It's an outdoor setting steeped in character, enhancing the laid-back dining experience. Most patrons agree that the true star here is the food itself: lightly breaded fish cooked to perfection, with a thin cornmeal batter that allows the fish to shine. The fried catfish never disappoints. The food is made fresh to order and is seasoned perfectly. A classic staple near downtown Orlando that all locals know and love!

The food is superb. The appearance is not anything to brag about but it's an outside dining restaurant. Service is pleasant.

"Perfectly fried perch, light, crispy, and flavorful--melts in your mouth. A must-try!"

Some of the best fried fish in the city. It's fast, fresh, crispy and tastes oh so good! Plus they give you about 4-5 pieces, one dinner can feed 2 people and they cost $10, great value! Highly recommended but be careful, keep your head on a swivel when you're in this neighborhood. Wink wink lol

Still one of the best for fish fry! It is located in the hood sketchy part of john young / colombia. This place has been in business for many years regardless of the location. So opted for Basa Daily Special $8.75 and a Basa Sandwich plate $9.75 recently. The difference is the Sandwich Plate consists of more fish than the Daily Special Plate and 2 pcs of bread slices and NO FRIES. The Daily Special is $1 cheaper but less fish and you get fries with 2 pcs of bread. So really its the fries / fish difference. Due to the sketchy area - The Drive Thru is a popular way to order here especially once it gets dark. The drive thru will take your order and and you pay - Then you still have to exit and wait for them to "text" you that your order is ready. The condiments they offer here is ketchup and tartar sauce packets, little tubs of white vinegar and cocktail sauce. They limit these condiments other than that they charge 25 cents per condiment (cocktail / vinegar/ hot sauce) . The owners here are chinese but the mexican staff usually are here on Saturdays. The reason I love the fish fry here (they cater to shrimp also but mostly fish) is the thin cornmeal batter. You taste the fish mostly. They cook the fish perfectly. Light and tender. This place gets busy Fridays and Saturdays They are closed on Sundays.

After hearing about this place for years from so many people I had to go see what it was about. My wife and I ordered, catfish, shrimp, and wings. I must say it was all pretty good. The catfish in several parts had a strong taste to it which I don't prefer. The shrimp were fried and seasoned really well. If I'm ever on that side of town I definitely will stop and place me an order. The portions are huge also.

So I tried this place yesterday for the first time as my sister went and couldn't stop raving about it. I decided to try the fried fish dinner and it was actually pretty good. The dinner comes with four pieces of fish hush puppies and fries. I thought the fish had a nice crunch and was well fried , however I wish the fish had a bit more seasoning . Once i paired it with hot sauce and tartar sauce . I was in love. I had enough for the next day to make a fish sandwich . I will say that it's usually a line when waiting for your food , because they are super busy and it's a bit of a wait but it's worth it. The service was good . I would recommend trying it out. The dinner is priced around $ 12 and the sandwich is $8, so if you're craving some nice fried fish . I would check this place out. They also have wings and fried shrimp. I also want to warn that the fish does have bones in it so be careful when eating .

Washington Shores Fish market has been a favorite of mine since relocating to Orlando a few years ago. I'm so happy you can now pay with a credit card because for years it was cash ONLY . I ordered the catfish sandwich and my husband ordered the whitening fish dinner which came with hush puppies and fries. I also ordered a 10 piece fried shrimp . The food took about 20 minutes and it was fresh and popping hot . The fish is well seasoned and they give you allot of fish . Im glad this place is still around making great fish. If you're in the mood for fish check this spot out if your haven't already . The ambiance of this place is what they consider to be the hood , but I always say the hood always has some of the best food !

I call it my hood spot fish place. Very cheap prices (especially if you get the all day lunch special) for a decent amount of food. Now if only they would season their fish a little more we'll have a winner
